Samosa, Kachori, Khaman Some of the most popular Gujarati foods are, undhiu (spicy mixture of vegetables), thepla (spicy wheat pancake), bhajia (fried split pea flour balls), gathiya (long stick made of split pea), and other farsans (snack items). Gujarat is also famous for its sweets. You will find many shops that display attractively decorated sweets in cities.
   
One distinct character of Gujarati foods is its subtle sweetness. The typical Gujarati meal is a thali (which means “meal” in Gujarati) and it consists of roti, dal, rice and shaak (cooked vegetables, sometimes with curry), with accompaniments of pickles and roasted papads. Beverages include buttermilk and tea; sweet dishes include laddoos and mango.

The people of Gujarat enjoy rich culinary traditions. It is a delightful experinece to eat at Gujarati restaurants such as Vishala, Rajwadu, Athithi, Dadima, and locals' favorite Pakwan. The food served in these restaurants have delicious Gujarati food. Gujaratis eat their food in steel dishes, sometimes including glass dishes and bowls for deserts. Gujarati food are best eaten with hands. Spoons are used to sip the delicious hot dals.
